Your Mission

• Take over the software engineering for hardware-related developments based on a complex tech stack
• Be responsible for the implementation within the software lifecycle from architecture decisions to delivery of the finished software and operation
• Analyze and optimize our existing code base
• Conduct code reviews and tests with your team members and assigned sparring partners, e.g. in pair programming
• Ensure the quality of your work through sufficient documentation and meaningful tests, e.g. component test, system test, system integration test, acceptance test
• Work closely with the Customer Experience, Quality Assurance, Engineering Energy Storage and Product Management departments and maintain a regular exchange of information
• Share knowledge in communities of practice to learn from each other
  
  

Your profile

• Completed studies in computer science or a comparable technical qualification and several years of professional experience
• Familiarity with technologies such as Java, Python, RUST, Modbus, Rest API, SMA Sunspec, EEBUS and other common protocols for connecting controllable devices in home energy management systems
• Interest in data analytics and artificial intelligence methods such as neural networks, cluster algorithms and deep learning
• Know-how in ensuring software quality and experience in dealing with the challenges of software engineering from conception to operation
• Knowledge of agile software development and test-driven development using common tools, e.g. Atlassian Jira/Confluence, Gitlab, CI/CD Pipeline and GIT Repository
• Very good written and spoken English skills
• Good German skills are a plus
• A high degree of personal responsibility, pragmatism and curiosity
• The opportunity to work in our Leipzig office about twice a quarter
