As the SDR Manager of our German based SDR Pod, you will have the unique opportunity to build and scale a high-performance Sales Development Representative (SDR) team from the ground up. Your primary focus will be on recruiting, coaching, and developing a team of SDRs to drive qualified leads into the sales pipeline. You’ll play a critical role in shaping the team culture, implementing best practices, and fostering a growth mindset within your team. This position requires a hands-on leader who is passionate about personal and professional development and has a proven track record of driving team performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Building & Recruitment:
- Recruit and build a team of high-performing SDRs from the ground up, ensuring that you hire individuals with potential for growth and development.
- Partner with HR and talent acquisition teams to design and implement effective hiring processes for sourcing top SDR talent.
- Run our clear and established onboarding processes to ensure new SDRs hit the ground running with a strong foundation.
Coaching & Development:
- Focus on continuous coaching and mentoring of SDRs, creating individualized development plans to improve performance and career progression.
- Conduct one-on-one sessions and regular performance reviews, offering feedback, training, and actionable insights to help SDRs reach and exceed their targets.
- Provide ongoing sales enablement training, including objection handling, product knowledge, CRM usage, and effective outbound strategies (calls, emails, social selling).
- Encourage a culture of learning, growth, and open communication within the team.
Strategy & Process Development:
- Establish and refine outreach processes, lead qualification standards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for SDR success.
- Analyse and optimize outreach channels, including cold calling, email campaigns, and social selling, to improve conversion rates and the quality of leads generated.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to ensure alignment between lead generation efforts and sales pipeline needs.
Performance Management:
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement within the team.
- Establish and maintain a data-driven approach to track team performance against KPIs (calls, emails, meetings set, qualified opportunities generated).
- Develop a framework for incentives and rewards to keep the team motivated and aligned with company goals.
- Lead by example, conducting live call shadowing, role-playing, and training sessions to keep SDRs sharp and engaged.
Collaboration & Leadership:
- Work closely with sales leadership and account executives to ensure smooth handoff of qualified leads and consistent feedback loops between the teams.
- Create a culture of collaboration, accountability, and achievement, where the team feels supported, challenged, and recognized for their efforts.
- Foster a positive and high-energy environment that emphasizes personal development and career growth.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (2+ years) in an SDR, inside sales, or lead generation leadership role, preferably in a B2B SaaS or technology environment.
- Demonstrated experience (3+ years) in coaching, mentoring, and developing SDRs or sales professionals.
- Strong understanding of sales processes, outbound prospecting techniques, and sales enablement tools (e.g., CRM, sales engagement platforms).
- A data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze and interpret metrics to drive performance improvements.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—and a track record of fostering collaboration across departments.
- Experience with building and scaling teams, with an emphasis on creating repeatable processes and strong team culture.
- Passion for developing people, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and hold a team accountable.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in building SDR teams from scratch or scaling a small team.
- Familiarity with modern sales tools (e.g., Salesforce, SalesLoft, ZoomInfo etc.).
- Experience with multi-channel outreach (social selling, cold calls, cold emails).
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and develop scalable frameworks.
