Your mission

You will lead our agile and self organized artificial intelligence & machine learning team. On a day-to-day basis you will:

• Evaluate, select, fine-tune, and integrate AI/ML models for contract review and legal publishing, focusing on maximizing performance with existing models
• Develop expertise in NLP models, LLM-based solutions, and knowledge extraction from legal documents
• Improve model accuracy, efficiency, and scalability, applying best practices in AI deployment and optimization
• Collaborate closely with product managers, legal experts, and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of AI
• Stay up-to-date with the latest AI advancements and evaluate emerging technologies
• Ensure that all AI projects adhere to ethical standards, regulatory requirements (EU AI Act, GDPR), and best practices in data privacy and security
• Lead a team of AI engineers and software developers in Leipzig to provide guidance, support, and a culture of collaboration and growth
  
  

Your profile

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in AI/ML model development (NLP is a plus)
• Strong expertise in Python and relevant AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Experience in leading teams and managing technical products
• Deep understanding of AI model lifecycle, including data preprocessing, model fine-tuning, evaluation, and deployment.
• Hands-on experience with vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and LLM fine-tuning
• Knowledge of MLOps, model monitoring, and continuous deployment
• Experience with cloud-based AI solutions (AWS, Azure)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to building AI-driven products
• Fluent in English, and ideally German
• European working permit
• Quick learner with the courage and creativity to tackle complex challenges with the ability to work independently
• Self-motivated team player with strong organizational skills and a flexible mindset
