We have a permanent opportunity available for a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to lead a Greenfield Sovereign Cloud development project.
You will be instrumental in creating a self-managing environment powered by AI agents and transforming large-scale data centre operations.
Lead the strategic migration from legacy environments to a sovereign OpenStack-based cloud, ensuring seamless integration of compute, storage, and networking on bare metal.
Architect and manage complex networking systems, including SDN, BGP routing, and advanced firewall rule sets to ensure a secure and scalable infrastructure.
Drive total automation through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using SaltStack, developing self-healing systems that identify and resolve anomalies autonomously.
Develop and implement AI Ops by building AI agents to handle complex tasks such as VM provisioning and firewall clearances.
Perform full-stack integration by developing backend services for APIs and optimising orchestration scripts to bridge infrastructure gaps.
Provide high-level mentoring to junior staff and apprentices, sharing expertise on modern, automated data centre operations.
Professional experience with OpenStack.
Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, with experience in Ansible or Terraform for automated environment provisioning.
Technical proficiency in Linux environments (Debian), with a commitment to defining infrastructure through code.
Knowledge of networking protocols, including BGP, Anycast, and SDN is preferred.
A developer mindset with the ability to write and optimise code in languages such as Python or C# to build custom tools and integrate APIs is ideal.
A forward-thinking interest in AI and its application in managing large-scale virtualised environments.
Proven seniority in high-pressure data centre environments with the ability to maintain stability and foresight during critical incidents.
Fluent in both German and English.
Eligibility Residency in Germany.
