We’ve reinvented how protein is made. Now we’re taking it to scale.

At Pacifico Biolabs, we grow mycelium through fermentation: a naturally texturized protein that’s better and cheaper than conventional meat and other protein ingredients. Behind it is a team of the brightest minds in fermentation biotechnology, food science and business.

Our first production site is coming online, delivering protein of a quality the market has never seen. It works as a 1:1 meat replacement and as an ingredient across a wide range of applications, from hybrid products to entirely new ones.

We’re looking for a Founder’s Associate – Intern (f/m/d) to help shape the future of our global food system. You’ll work on practical solutions to two of the world’s biggest challenges, climate change and food security. At the same time, you’ll help us build an AI-native company from the ground up. Working directly with our founders, you’ll play a hands-on part in bringing AI into how we operate, from sales and marketing to operations and R&D.

The role

You’ll work directly with our founders and the commercial team to build and scale the backbone of our company: the processes, tools, and structures that let a small team sell, deliver, and grow like a much larger one.

• Processes & AI-driven workflows: Design and roll out the systems that run the company, using AI and the latest tools to optimise workflows and remove friction across teams. 
• Operations & project management: Drive cross-functional projects between our lab, production site, and commercial team, from kick-off to delivery. 
• Business development: Support the commercial team with pipeline management, CRM, and customer follow-up, and help build relationships with potential partners.
• Brand building: Shape how Pacifico shows up externally: content, sales materials, PR, and messaging across channels.
• Analytics & reporting: Define key metrics, analyse performance, and prepare reports for leadership and investors that turn findings into decisions.
• Finance/fundraising: Get a front-row seat as we raise the capital for our next chapter. You’ll shape the financial models, investor materials and updates that tell the Pacifico story to the people who back it.
• Exploring new business opportunities: While we start with a focus on 1:1 replacement for chicken, we are at advanced stages for other applications, e.g., pet food, hybrid products, as well as protein and fiber extracts. You’ll identify, explore and push forward new initiatives.

Required skills and experience

• A passion for our core mission
• Genuinely excited about AI: you use it every day and want to push it far beyond simple productivity gains
• Previous work experience in a fast-paced environment e.g., venture-backed startup, consulting, or finance
• Currently studying or completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, economics, or a related field (flexible with the right work experience and skills)
• Hands-on, proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills and ability to juggle multiple projects at once
• Collaborative and curious: you enjoy working with diverse teams, pick up work wherever it’s needed, and don’t shy away from responsibility
• Fluent in English and German
